Toxic Water Claims

The Camp Lejeune Justice Act

  • The Camp Lejeune Justice Act of 2022 has been (S.3373) signed into law by the President of the United States. The Act allows military veterans to file civil lawsuits against the U.S. Government for harm caused by at least thirty days of exposure (including in utero exposure) to water at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina from August 1, 1953 to December 31, 1987.
  • The Act precludes the U.S. Government from asserting immunity that otherwise would be available in response to litigation. The law also overrides a North Carolina statute of repose that precludes the filing of tort claims after ten years.
  • For over 34 years, chemicals contaminated the groundwaters at Camp Lejeune beginning in 1953.  Marines and their families drank, cooked, and bathed in this contaminated water.  Rappaport, Glass, Levine & Zullo is currently investigating claims of individuals who were exposed to contaminated water at Camp Lejeune Marine Base and developed cancer, neurologic disorders, and other health conditions.
  • Currently, the US Department of Veteran Affairs (V.A.) already provides disability benefits for veterans who have qualifying service at Camp Lejeune and developed certain health conditions.
  • Even if you are already receiving benefits from the V.A. for Camp Lejeune exposure, you may still qualify for compensation under the Camp Lejeune Justice Act.

Veterans always had to prove their disease or illness was related to their exposure while serving our country.

Now The Government has to disprove it.

If you or a loved one believe you have been affected by exposure to contaminated water from Camp Lejeune, please fill out the form below to assist us in reviewing your claim. There is no fee to you.
